Pizza Hut: Supreme is Supreme
Overall rating: 8 Pizzas out of 10
The Pizza: 8 Pizzas out of 10
Pizza Style: Americana: Pan, Thin Crust, Stuffed Crust
Pizza chains do have their place and Pizza Hut has carved out a nice niche for themselves by focusing on sit-down pizza dining that is is family friendly with a non-rushed dining atmosphere. Serving 4 different styles of American pizza allows Pizza Hut to cater to groups with multiple tastes in pizza. Great money saving deals when you order more than 1 pizza and low prices on pies loaded with toppings makes it easy to see why Pizza Hut is successful (they were the first pizza chain after all.)
The key at chains is to get pizzas that come loaded with toppings and at Pizza Hut that means the Supreme, their most popular and best tasting pie. We had the Pan Supreme and enjoyed the fresh mushrooms and spicy pepperoni, each bite had a different topping - this pie was really good.
The cheese was perfectly browned; each pie at Pizza Hut was perfectly made - you won't be served a burnt or under done pizza.
The crust is the jewel of the pan pizza, with 3 distinct layers: an airy center, a textured crunch on the bottom and a top blended with cheese. The pan style was our favorite due to the oil and butter they used to coat the bottom of the pan.
The sauce is lively with a bright pop of pepper.
Salt Level: like most chains there is a high degree of salt in Pizza Huts pies.
The Experience: 8 Pizzas out of 10
With big wide booths to kick back in and a veteran wait staff, Pizza Hut is perfect for sit-down pizza dinning. Both of our pizzas were ready in 15 minutes flat.
Pizza Hut is located at 2301 North Triphammer Road Ithaca, in Ithaca, NY, just across the street from the Shops At Ithaca Mall (formerly Pyramid Mall.)
