When I walk into a pizza joint and the people waiting in line for their pizza are smiling and laughing I know I'm going to be eating good pizza. Northeast pizza is a special place with amazing pizza that borders on pure decandence. And what goes better with great pizza then cold beer? Try cold and fresh beer; Ithaca's only brewpub, the Scale House Brewpub, is under the same roof. Where else can you order a craft draft beer from a guy in a pizza apron? Steve, the owner, who made cheese for 26 years in Vermont, wanted to do something a little different from the other guys - one bite and one sip in his place and you'll realize he has. You might not have heard of Northeast/Scale House as their location makes them hard to find (see Google map below) but once you go I bet you wont forget the way.

Pizza Style: Americana/NY Style Fusion
Flavorful pies loaded with lots of topping and handfuls of of yummy cheese. At our table both the cheese pie and the mushroom and pepperoni pie were eaten with equal gusto.
The cheese is lovingly browned and full of flavor. All that flavor comes with a cost, there is some grease to be found on the cheese pies.
The toppings are fresh and plentiful with the pepperoni having a nice heat to it.
The crust is airy and chewy on the ends and leaves you wanting more and more.
The sauce is well balanced and compliments the cheese; coupling the sauce with pepperoni brings out the sauce's highlights
Salt - amazingly this pizza is not salty

This is a happy place and happening place; the bar can get lively in the evenings as live bands play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. People picking up pizza seem to arrive a few minutes early, just enough time for a quick beer at the bar. The bar serves 3 types of home brewed beer, a pilsner, a red ale, and bock dark - each was fun to drink and lacked the tinny bitterness often associated with small batch brews.
