Bella Pizza: Agreeable Pizza

Bella Pizza, a friendly new pizza joint in town, is located in Center Ithaca, right on the Commons, in the same shop where Ned's Pizza used to be. Bella Pizza serves family friendly pizza as our 3 yr old devoured an entire slice, well beyond his normally finicky eating behavior as the slices are large. I suspect this pizza would be a hit with older kids too. Bella Pizza is open for sit down dining the same hours that Center Ithaca is open and they make deliveries a bit beyond those hours.

Pizza Style: NY Style/Americana

The slices are hearty and hefty, two filled me up nicely. The cheese was lightly browned and very tasty due to the browning. Our cheese pizza had lots and lots of cheese on it.
The crust is interesting as it has elements of 2 pizza genres in 1, the bottom being a NY Style Thin Crust, while the top part of the dough has a touch of air and fluffiness just between the cheese and the bottom crust that hints of classic Pizza Americana. The 2 in 1 crust worked as it tasted good.
The sauce is mild, not spicy and a bit too heavy in places, perhaps the reason why our child liked it so much as kids love to get sauced.
Salt level tasted average, though there was some division among the tasters as one said it was salty while one actually put salt on the pizza. Readers are welcome to weigh in on this by sending us comments.
